Storm and Flood Assistance
Approximately 30 people have been evacuated from premises in the Melbourne Building following a restaurant pizza oven fire.
The fire was quickly extinguished by the owners of the restaurant on London Circuit, but several nearby businesses were evacuated as a precaution due to the smoke in the area.
ACT Fire & Rescue is currently in attendance with three fire pumpers, breathing apparatus support, the Bronto aerial firefighting appliance and a commander vehicle.
Crews will conduct atmospheric monitoring and ensure no residual fire exists before allowing the occupants to return.
