ACT Rural Fire Service Remote Area Fire Team assists in NSW

An ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) Remote Area Fire Team has assisted crews from the NSW Rural Fire Service in containing a fire in the Brindabella Valley.

The five-person team was deployed at 7:00am yesterday, into extremely remote, steep and dense bushland.

Their primary role was walking the perimeter of the fire to locate hotspots and call in support from water-bombing aircraft where required.

The team returned safely at 6:00pm yesterday.
