ACTSES responds to calls for help

The ACT State Emergency Services (ACTSES) has received 100 calls for help since 5:30pm following wet weather.

The majority of requests for assistance have been for fallen trees on properties and roads.

Most jobs are located in the north with a high number of call-outs in Belconnen. Seven ACTSES teams are being supported by ACT Fire & Rescue.

The ACTSES urges Canberrans to stay clear of fallen power lines and trees and be aware that trees and branches could fall in windy conditions.

For more information on road closures visit www.tccs.act.gov.au or Access Canberra on 13 22 81.

For storm and flood assistance call the ACTSES on 132 500.
