Update three - ACTSES responds to calls for help

The ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) has now received 103 requests for assistance since 4pm today following wet and windy weather across Canberra.

Six ACTSES crews have been stood up to respond to these jobs and are being supported by ACT Fire & Rescue, the ACT Rural Fire Service and City Services.

The majority of have been for trees on roads, with some trees on power lines and property, with 45 jobs now complete.

The ACTSES urges Canberrans to stay clear of fallen power lines and trees and be aware that trees and branches could fall in windy conditions. Residents should stay indoors, clear of windows.
