Update three - Multiple hazard reduction burns

The Territory and Municipal Services Directorate (TAMS) ACT Parks and ACT Rural Fire Service will continue to undertake hazard reduction burns, weather permitting this week.

A 1876 burn will be taking place in Bulls Head near Mount Franklin Road at Piccadilly Circus, weather permitting, from 10am today.

Crews are continuing to monitor and patrol the burn at Honeysuckle, south of Honeysuckle Creek and Apollo Road, west of Orroral Road.

ACT Parks are working to get Bobeyan Road open again as soon as it is safe to do so at Brandy Flats in the Booth Range, South Namadgi National Park.
Crews will continue to monitor the burn sites until smoke has not been visible for 24 hours.

The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.

The ACT Emergency Services Agency requests that people do not ring Emergency Triple Zero (000) for these fires but are urged to report any other new fires that they might identify that are unattended by firefighters.
