Update three - 48 calls for help following windy weather

The ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) has received 48 calls for help since 10am today due to the strong winds.

ACTSES and ACT Rural Fire Service volunteers, ACT Fire & Rescue as well as crews from the Territory and Municipal Services Directorate have responded to mostly calls for trees and branches across roads, pathways and some structures.

Trees have fallen onto cars in Cook and Amaroo. One property at Duntroon has sustained significant damage from a fallen tree.

Calls have been widespread across the territory.

The Bureau of Meteorology has reissued a Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds for the ACT and surrounding areas today.

Residents who require storm or flood assistance can call the ACTSES on 132 500.
