Nine calls for help following windy weather

The ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) has received nine calls for help since 10am today due to the strong winds.

ACTSES volunteers, ACT Fire & Rescue as well as crews from the Territory and Municipal Services Directorate have responded to mostly calls for trees and branches across roads and pathways.

Calls for help include roof damage at a property at Stromlo and a tree fallen onto a car in Cook.

The Bureau of Meteorology has reissued a Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds for the ACT and surrounding areas today.

Residents who require storm or flood assistance can call the ACTSES on 132 500.
