Hazard reduction burn this week in NSW at Brindabella National Park

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will today, Wednesday 27 March, 2013, through until early next week, weather permitting, conduct a hazard reduction burn in the Brindabella National Park at Webbs Ridge.

The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the burn is E11.

For more details on the burn, visit www.environment.nsw.gov.au.

Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burn in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.

The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
