ACT mapping experts heading to Queensland

The ACT has received a formal request from Red Cross Queensland to provide some mapping specialists to help with their work in the sunshine state.

A three person team from the ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) MAPS volunteers will head up to Qld tonight for a five day deployment.

The volunteers will be working out of the state command centre in Brisbane. The request follows extensive support previously provided by the ESA during the Qld floods and Cyclone Yasi in 2010.
