The ACT Emergency Services Agency Acting Commissioner, Tony Graham has announced that the Total Fire Ban will end in the ACT at 11.59pm tonight.
"I would like to thank all of the Canberra Community for their assistance during the very hot conditions this week and remaining vigilant during the three days of Total Fire Ban," ESA Acting Commissioner Tony Graham said.
"A Total Fire Ban is remaining in place throughout this afternoon and into tonight as difficult conditions for firefighters continue," Mr Graham said.
"The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast that tomorrow's conditions will be milder with isolated showers and a top temperature of 28 degrees. The Fire Danger Rating for Sunday will be HIGH.
"With temperatures increasing through the week, the ESA will closely monitor the conditions to determine if further Total Fire Bans need to be implemented.
"I would like to thank all of the Canberra Households that have downloaded a Bushfire Survival Plan from the ESA website, and would encourage them to all make time to prepare their plan.
"Over 9000 copies have been downloaded over the last six weeks from the ESA website and I would strongly urge everyone to have one in place should a fire eventuate in their neighbourhood.
