ACT community offers to assist

The ACT ESA has been overwhelmed by offers of public support since the start of the current heat wave and the heightened fire risk.

In the past week, approximately 130 people have offered to volunteer to assist or to join the ACT Rural Fire Service. The RFS looks forward to providing information on membership in the weeks ahead.

At present the ACT ESA is well equipped to deal with the situation and it will respond to those who have offered their assistance once the current threat eases.
