Stay informed during elevated fire danger

The community is being reminded this morning to include in information in your Bushfire Survival Plan on how you will monitor developments and stay informed, if a fire starts in your local area today.

Being aware of any potential threat to you, your family and your property from a bush or grass fire is critical on days like today when the fire danger is SEVERE.

The ACT Government will provide information about any fire that impacts on the community through the ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) website esa.act.gov.au and social media accounts, via local media outlets and the Canberra Connect Call Centre (13 22 81).

You should save the ESA website address as a favourite in computer browser at work or home and as a quick link on the screen of your mobile devices so you can stay up to date.

Information on the ESA website can also be easily translated by selecting one of more than 50 languages on the right hand side of the home page. If you have a family member, friend or neighbour who doesn't clearly understand English, show them the website and how to translate it to their language of choice.
