Three hazard reduction burns in the ACT this weekend

The ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) will conduct three hazard reduction burns this weekend.

Tomorrow, Saturday 11 August, 2012, weather permitting, from 1pm, the ACTRFS will conduct a hazard reduction burn at the property Murraymore, Point Hut Road, Paddys River.

One heavy tanker, one medium tanker and six personnel will conduct the burn of approx two hectares in size.

The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the burn is J15.

Also tomorrow, weather permitting, from 3.30pm, the ACTRFS will conduct a hazard reduction burn at the property Cuppacumbalong, Naas Road, Tharwa.

One heavy tanker, one medium tanker and six personnel will conduct the burn of approx two hectares in size.

The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the burn is J17.

On Sunday 12 August, 2012, weather permitting, from 9.30am, the ACTRFS will conduct a hazard reduction burn at the Motor Sports complex, Pialligo Avenue, Majura.

One heavy tanker and five personnel will conduct the burn of tree and shrub materials.

The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the burn is M12.

The purpose of all three burns is to remove a fuel hazard.
