Two hazard reduction burns in the ACT tomorrow

The ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) will conduct two hazard reduction burns in the ACT tomorrow, Saturday 14 April, 2012, weather permitting.

From 10am till 6pm, the ACTRFS Jerrabomberra and Guises Creek Brigades will conduct a hazard reduction burn, at Farrer, near Molineaux Place, Farrer.

Two heavy tankers, one light unit, one command vehicle and 15 personnel will conduct the burn covering a total area of approx three hectares in size.

The purpose of the burn is to remove a fuel hazard and a training opportunity for volunteers.

The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the burn is K14.

Also tomorrow, from 10am, the ACTRFS will assist the National Capital Authority with a controlled burn at Yarramundi Reach, near Lady Denman Drive and Lake Burley Griffin.
