9:08am Tuesday 23 August 2011 - ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics deliver baby boy at a Kambah home

ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics have delivered a baby boy this morning at a home at Kambah.

An Emergency Triple Zero (000) call was made at 7.20am by the patients partner. An ACT Ambulance Service Communications Call taker assisted with advice over the phone until intensive care paramedics arrived, to find the woman aged in her 30's going into labour in a corridor at the home.

Intensive care paramedics successfully delivered the baby after some complications with the umbilical cord wrapped around the baby boy's neck.

Both mother and baby are well and were taken to The Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.
