Update three on calls for help following storm activity

ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) has received a further 30 calls for help today following last night’s storm activity.

ACTSES volunteers and ACT Fire & Rescue crews have responded to today’s calls for help, mostly related to trees and branches across roads and pathways.

Minor damage reported.

Residents who require storm and flood assistance can call the ACTSES on 132-500.

Fyshwick hazard reduction burn postponed today

The ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) advise that today’s hazard reduction burn at the ActewAGL Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Plant on Dairy Road has been postponed.

Tomorrows hazard reduction burn at Calwell Hill will still go ahead as planned unless weather conditions determine otherwise.

Update two on calls for help following storm activity

ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) has received a further six calls for help this morning following last night’s storm activity.

ACTSES volunteers, ACT Fire & Rescue, ACT Rural Fire Service volunteers and crews from the Territory and Municipal Services Directorate responded to a total of 79 calls for help last night with the Tuggeranong Valley and Weston Creek area mostly affected.

Majority of calls were related to flooding with blocked drains and gutters on roofs.

Today’s six calls for help are in Gordon and Kambah mostly related to trees and branches across roads and pathways.

Minor damage reported.

ACTSES volunteers, ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Rural Fire Service volunteers have responded to minor flooding with some trees and branches also across roads and pathways.
