Approximately 350 have been safely evacuated from Hughes Primary School following reports of smoke in the building.
The ACT Fire Brigade responded with multiple resources and found a faulty light fitting in the school library emitting smoke.
Firefighters are currently ventilating the area and will carry out atmospheric monitoring before allowing everyone back inside.
Firefighters have arrived on scene at Ammon Place, Kambah, to find a boat in the front yard of the property has been destroyed by fire. Parts of a car were also damaged in the blaze.
1 fire pumper attended the scene and extinguised the flames.
The occupants of the dwelling were evacuated from the property but have now been let back inside their home.
