Recent operations

During financial year 2010-11 the ACT SES responded to 2767 requests for assistance. Of these requests 99% related to storm and flood operations with the remaining 1% relating to the provision of operational assistance to other emergency service organisations and agencies.

The most significant of the 2010-11 ACT SES operations were:

  • September 2010 – Incident Management Team (IMT) was established with 370 incidents.
  • October 2010 – IMT established with 322 incidents.
  • 2-3 December 2010 – IMT established with 533 incidents.
  • 9-10 December 2010 – IMT established with 231 incidents.
  • December 2010 – support to flood event at Queanbeyan.
  • December 2010 – support NSWSES in response to a storm event at Goulburn.
  • January 2011 – IMT established with 116 incidents.
  • January/February 2011 – 6 task forces deployed to Queensland in response to the floods and Tropical Cyclone Yasi.
  • January 2011 – support provided to the NSWSES IMT in response to flood events.
  • 2-3 February 2011 – IMT established with 116 incidents.
  • 4-6 February 2011 – IMT established with 252 incidents.
