Update 12 – Fire at Pialligo

The fire was fully extinguished at approximately 3:00am this morning. Firefighters are now packing up equipment and will then leave the scene. It is believed the cause of the fire was due to sparks and embers from onsite machinery.

16 calls for help following wet weather

The ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) has received 16 calls for help following storm activity in Canberra today. Five ACTSES units along with ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Rural Fire Service crews, including the Parks Brigade, are responding to incidents. Update 14 – Hail storm strikes the ACT

The ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) expect to complete the clean up from the hailstorm last night by midnight. There are just four jobs remaining with ACTSES crews currently responding to them. Update 13 – Hail storm strikes the ACT

The ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) has now received 543 calls for help as a result of the hail storm last night. ACTSES units and ACT Fire & Rescue firefighters are attending the remaining 15 jobs.
