ACTSES receives 91 calls for help

ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) has received 91 requests for assistance resulting from high winds across the Canberra region today, with 44 jobs still underway. The majority of requests are in relation to roof damage and fallen trees across roads. Volunteer units from ACTSES were supported by ACT Rural Fire Service volunteers, ACT Fire & Rescue crews, Access Canberra and Transport Canberra and City Services. ACTSES remind the Canberra community to #BeStormReady and to visit the ESA website for information on how to prepare for a storm. If you need assistance for fallen trees, call ACT State Emergency Service on 132 500. In a life-threatening emergency, call Emergency Triple Zero (E000).
