Update four - ADVICE - Bushfire in southern ACT

The ACT Rural Fire Service has now brought a bushfire burning at Booth in the far south of the ACT under control.

The Bushfire Alert and Warning Level for this fire remains at ADVICE.

A number of units continue to monitor the area, looking for and extinguishing any remaining hot spots.

A water bombing helicopter is currently patrolling steep terrain on the western side of the fire.

A heavy tanker, two medium and two light units will relieve current personnel later this afternoon.

The fire is located south of Tharwa, on the western slopes adjacent to Caloola Farm.

The fire is still approximately 12 hectares in size.

There is no property under threat at this time.

The Fire Danger Rating where this fire is burning is HIGH.

Fires burning in HIGH conditions can be controlled.

Well prepared and actively defended houses can offer safety during a fire.

Embers may be blown ahead of the fire.

Spot fires can occur close to the main fire.
