Update - ADVICE - Bushfire in southern ACT

The ACT Rural Fire Service is working to extinguish a bushfire burning at Booth in the far south of the ACT.

The Bushfire Alert and Warning Level for this fire has been set at ADVICE.

There are eight fire tankers, three commanders, two water bombing helicopters and one observation aircraft on scene.

Earthmoving equipment is being taken to the scene to assist firefighters to put in containment lines.

The fire is located south of Tharwa, on the western slopes adjacent to Caloola Farm.

The fire is approximately 12 hectares in size and is now being controlled.

The fire is burning at a slow rate and is heading in a westerly direction. There is no property under threat at this time. The fire is burning away from a small number of structures in the area.

Embers may be blown ahead of the fire.

Spot fires can occur close to the main fire.
