Update six – ACTSES activated by storm activity

More than 20 teams will work through remaining storm jobs today in a major clean-up effort across the capital.

A total of 750 calls for help have been received following yesterday’s storm activity and more than 250 jobs have been completed.

All ACT State Emergency Service volunteer units are responding to requests for assistance with help from ACT Fire & Rescue, the ACT Rural Fire Service and Transport Canberra and City Services.

The weather is reasonably favourable today with possible showers expected. Residents are still urged to exercise caution near large trees that may continue to drop branches.

No injuries have been reported.
