Update - Canberrans seek wet weather help

Around 7.45 this morning ACT Fire & Rescue was called to Hobart Avenue in Forrest after a tree fell on a car.

One man was in the car. He driving at the time the tree fell across the windshield and bonnet.

He received minor injuries, was assessed by ACT Paramedics and did not need to be transported to hospital.

Meanwhile, the ACT State Emergency Service (ACTSES) has received a total of 16 calls for help since yesterday afternoon as a result of the wet weather.

All have been for leaking roofs with only minor damage reported.
