Firefighters have extinguished a fire at SIMS Metal Yard, Alderson Place, Hume.
Fire was contained to a truck that was to transport crushed cars.
The load was dumped onto the yard and crews also used an excavator to help pull the load apart.
There are no injuries and damage to the truck is minor.
ACT Fire & Rescue has two fire pumpers are on scene, two Compressed Air Foam System Tankers (CAFS), the Breathing Apparatus Support Van and two Commanders.
Crews were alerted following multiple Emergency Triple Zero (000) calls from 2.59pm
