Hazard reduction pile burn at “Innabaanya” Majura Rd

The ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) Gungahlin Brigade will conduct a hazard reduction burn today, 10 October 2012, weather permitting, from the hours 5:00pm - 10:00pm at the Property “Innabaanya”, on Majura Road, opposite the police training area.

Two medium tankers and six personnel will conduct the burn.

The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the burn is M11.

The purpose of the burn is to remove fuel hazard in the area.

Temporary smoke cover may occur. Every effort is made to conduct the burns in weather conditions that will minimise the impact of smoke in the area.

The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
